The Phusicos General Assembly took place from 15 to 17 October 2019 in Lucca (Italy). Phusicos, one of the “sister projects” of RECONECT, aims to demonstrate that Nature-Based Solutions can reduce hydro-meteorological risks in rural and mountain landscapes.
Guido Palliaga (CNR-IRPI) and Alessandra Marchese (GISIG) participated in the meeting on behalf of Zoran Vojinovic, the RECONECT project coordinator. In their presentation, they introduced the general objectives and the status of the works within RECONECT, focusing in particular on the Portofino Natural Park, one of our Demonstrator areas that will implement NBS to reduce landslide and flood risks.
The presentations were followed by group sessions where partners debated about the critical issues around NBS, the need to get local stakeholders more involved and the choice of indicators.
They also discussed to find synergies between Phusicos, RECONECT and Operandum (the third Horizon 2020 project on NBS started in 2018), in particular about the possibility to create a common training framework.
