GISIG, Parco di Portofino and Unige Distav represented RECONECT on the first day of the TRIG-Eau Autumn School (6-8 November, Camogli, Italy), dedicated to technicians and projects operating with Green Infrastructures.
In the afternoon, a round table on flood risk and Nature-Based Solutions saw the participation of representatives from different projects – RECONECT, UNALAB (Horizon 2020), TRIG-Eau and ADAPT (Interreg Maritime): the discussion between partners and stakeholders highlighted the benefits brought by green infrastructures, in terms of hydro-meteorogical risk reduction and adaptation to climate change. The factors that limit the acceptance of this type of interventions by decision makers and the public were also topic of discussion: more education and awareness is needed, especially in public authorities, to increase the demand for NBS in public works.
