PhD in assessments of human benefits of NBS
DTU (Technical University of Denmark) offers a PhD scholarship in Quantitative Assessment of Human Benefits of Nature Based Solutions. The candidate will become part of the DTU Environment team, working mostly on the RECONECT project.
Practical exercise on NBS in Varna
On 30 May 2019, in the framework of the Annual Meeting of the chief safety and mobilisation officials from the Region of Varna (Bulgaria), the Regional Administration of Varna carried out a practical exercise with key stakeholders on design and implementation of Nature Based Solutions.

Recap of the Meeting in Zwolle
The Second Project Committee Meeting of RECONECT took place in Zwolle (NL) from 8th to 10th May 2019, organized by the local partners IHE-Delft and TAUW. After the kick-off in Portofino (IT) of last September, the meeting in Zwolle was a real cornerstone for the project and the planning of future activities.
New paper on NBS under discussion
Laddaporn Ruangpan and Zoran Vojinovic (IHE Delft) wrote a joint paper on Nature Based Solutions with members of other European Commission projects on NBS (OPERANDUM, Phusicos and Naiad). The scientific paper “Nature-Based Solutions for hydro-meteorological risk reduction: A state-of-the-art review of the research area” is now under discussion for the important journal Natural Hazards and Earth System Sciences (NHESS).
RECONECT at the EGU General Assembly 2019
RECONECT was at the EGU 2019 General Assembly in Vienna, one of the most important events in the geoscience field! RECONECT at the NAIAD project meeting
The NAIAD project General Assembly Meeting took place from 21st to 23rd January 2019 in Ljubljana (Slovenia). The event consisted of internal meetings between sister project Coordinators and the European Commission (EC), as well as of other meetings, all aiming at enhancing cooperation activities with similar EC projects in relation to Nature Based Solutions (NBS).
RECONECT Technical Meeting
On 27th and 28th of November a first ICT meeting on the RECONECT Platform of Services is held in Apeldoorn (NL), at the premises of the partner Inter Act industrial automation B.V. The meeting is organized in the framework of Work Package 3 “co-evaluation and validation”.
H2020 RECONECT Kick-Off Meeting
GISIG, Portofino Park Authority and CNR-IRPI are the organizers of the RECONECT Kick-Off meeting, that is held on 26-27-28 September 2018 in the wonderful frame of Portofino. Project partners, EC officers and main local and international stakeholders take part in this launch event of the project.
